Even though she’s just a junior, Olivia Sobczak has grown accustomed to her leadership role on Mona Shores’ basketball team.

Sobczak even finished as leader of the pack in the MLive Muskegon Chronicle Player of the Week fan poll.

The 206,985 total votes cast in the poll are a season high.

“She showed a lot of improvement from last year to this year and also grew throughout the season,” Phillips said.

Sobczak also was a member of Mona Shores’ OK Green Conference-champion volleyball team in the fall.
