SHIMLA: As many as four armed robbers looted Rs 9 lakh from a liquor trader on Una-Amb road in Una district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday morning.
The robbers came in a car bearing a Punjab registration number and barged into the liquor store when the employees were counting the day's collection.
Before fleeing the store the miscreants also fired a few gunshots in the air.
Police teams have been sent to different parts of Punjab in search of the robbers while a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has also been formed to look into the case.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur also issued a statement in the state assembly about the incident and said police are checking the CCTV footage of different locations track the vehicle involved in the robbery.
Una SP Arijit Thakur Sen said that as soon as information was received, an alert was sounded in the district.
Sen, who visited the spot, said that CCTV footage was checked and police teams have been sent to trace the accused.
