Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is using its corporate clout to support Akron group Devo’s inclusion in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The new video follows Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan’s announcement of April 1 as Devo Day.

Fifty sculptures made from Goodyear tires to look like the band’s trademark energy domes have been placed around the city.

According to Smith, the collaborative video can be seen across Devo’s social media including twitter.com/DEVO, with extra behind-the-scenes footage featured on the Goodyear blimp’s accounts in the days ahead.

Devo tweeted out: “Thank you @goodyear for supporting @RockHall nomination!”Fans can vote for up to five nominees daily through May 7 at vote.rockhall.com.
