Memphis actress goes to camp in Netflix musical 'A Week Away' - Commercial Appeal

Kat Conner Sterling is one of the four lead actors in "A Week Away," a Netflix teen summer camp musical that debuts worldwide Friday on the globe's most popular streaming service.

Dream come true for Memphis actressAppearing in a movie musical was wish fulfillment on a grand scale for Sterling.

"I grew up obsessed with 'High School Musical' and 'Camp Rock,'" she said.

"What's crazy is I'm fulfilling my dream by being in a high school musical."

She was on a graduation-gift cruise with her parents when she got the call that her audition tape had won her a lead role in "A Week Away."
