Victoria has recorded no new local cases of coronavirus for the 37th day in a row, as new documents show the first phase of the vaccine rollout in Australia could finish up two months late.

There were 9576 test results returned on Saturday.

Just one active case remains in Victoria - an international flight crew member who tested positive to COVID-19 on March 29.

The day’s COVID-19 numbers come as The Sunday Age can reveal the federal government has advertised for further assistance – in every state and territory across the country – to roll out the vaccine to residential aged care staff and other people in the phase 1a cohort of 700,000 people.

The documents suggest phase 1a will not be completed until the end of May, rather than early April as initially suggested by federal Health Minister Greg Hunt.
