Gene R. Stephens was born to Jesse and Daisy Stephens on July 3, 1935 and was reunited with his beloved wife in heaven on Sunday, March 7, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha; brothers, Earl, Paul and Ralph; sisters, Martha Nell and Catherine.

Gene moved to California in 1956 where he worked in the construction industry. He returned in 1978. He was a wonderful father and husband who taught his children about Jesus, respect, hard work and integrity. Gene was a man of his word and those who knew him will forever remember his wicked sense of humor and sweet nature.

Gene loved his family and left behind daughter, Terry and husband, Danny; son, Randy and wife, Cynthia; grandchildren, Jesse and Sarah; sister, Rebecca and husband, Glenn; sister-in-law, Lucille Stephens; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Gene R. Stephens, 85, were held Monday, March 8, 2021 at Rayville Masonic Cemetery, Rayville, with Bro. Danny Trichell officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
