Midland County recorded 21 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, according to the daily statewide report.
One new COVID-related death was recorded in the local five-county region of Midland, Bay, Gladwin, Saginaw and Isabella counties.
Friday, March 12 COVID-19 numbers:
• Midland County: 21 cases were added. Pandemic total is 4,579 cases, 605 probable, 63 deaths and three probable deaths.
• Bay County: 22 cases and one death were added; pandemic total stands at 7,336 cases, 317 probable, 285 deaths and 12 probable deaths.
• Gladwin County: 1 case was added; pandemic total stands at 1,269 cases, 235 probable, 40 deaths and three probable deaths.
• Isabella County: 9 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 3,631 cases, 471 probable, 72 deaths and one probable death.
• Saginaw County: 32 cases were added; pandemic total stands at 14,472 cases, 755 probable, 514 deaths and 11 probable deaths.
On Friday, the state added 2,403 new cases and 7 deaths. Overall, Michigan is at 605,778 cases and 15,736 deaths.
Testing
The state report shows as of Friday, Midland County has performed 60,399 COVID-19 tests. Gladwin County is listed as having administered 16,959 tests.
Midland County’s seven-day rolling positivity rate on March 7 was listed at 5.6%, and Gladwin County was listed at 3.5%. Our 12-county region is listed at 5.3% and Michigan is at 4.5%.
MidMichigan Health statistics
As of Wednesday, MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland was listed as having a 78% bed occupancy, with 9 COVID-19 patients and one in the ICU. MidMichigan Medical Center in Gladwin was listed as having an 27% bed occupancy, with no COVID-19 patients.
Regarding PPE supplies, the Midland hospital reported 15-30 days for N95 masks; 15-30 days for surgical masks; 30-plus days for surgical gowns; 15-30 days for exam gloves and 30-plus days for eye protection. The Gladwin hospital reported 30-plus days for all of the above supplies.
